Who is Maharshi patel?
My name is Maharshi Patel & I'm 25 years old. I was born and brought up in Mumbai, India. I'm an Architect & I absolutely love designing spaces. Though, apart from that I'm also a self taught photographer. I completed my graduation in Architecture few years back in 2017 and since then I've taken photography as my professional career.

How did you get into photography?
​Architecture is a 5 year-long degree course and it demands a lot of time, energy and hard work. So in those 5 years I never actually got time to focus on my hobby and enjoy it. In spite of that I used to take out some time on weekends and go out on photowalks. I joined Instagram in Dec 2013 and came across few groups of photography enthusiasts who used to go out on photowalks twice or thrice a month. This was a good opportunity for me to test my skills and do photography more seriously.
I made new friends on these photowalks and with these like-minded people, it was a great way to learn new things! Healthy discussions about photography helped me to take my knowledge a step above. I learned a lot from watching videos on YouTube! It's a great space to master your skills. Since then, I've turned my hobby of photography into a full-time professional career.
your favourite subject to shoot and why?
Photography is a vast field. It has many areas of specializations within it. To thrive in the field of photography, one must have a set of qualities and skills like - Passion for photography, creativity, will to travel and work at off timings, patience, concentration, technical expertise, communication skills & lastly computer and software skills. Luckily, I had acquired most of the above skills in my B.arch course since it's also designed for creators and designers. One thing that was left to do was 'technical expertise' & to master this I decided to learn all the genres of photography and not just one. I used to target 1 genre for a period of 1 week and in that I just have to focus on the chosen style of photography. From basics to choice of lens, use of light, composition, editing approach, suitable camera, lenses & its technical side for each genre.
So, week after week I mastered different genres like portraits, wildlife, architectural, landscape, documentation, product, sports, events, low light & light paintings one by one. By the time I completed this process, my control over the camera was so commanding and easy that I could assess the scenario and set the camera settings in just couple of seconds. Today, I'm open to almost any sort of assignments and projects because I've invested plenty of my time to go deep into each of those genres.
​Though my favorite subject to shoot will always be documenting various festivals and different cultures along, landscape, travel & portraits. Being an Architect, I really enjoy shooting interiors and spaces since I can very well understand the concept and approach of the designer. Making it easier for me to portray the space in right perspectives. 
what editing softwares for you use the most?
​I've tried lot of different softwares and apps in the past but as of today my main softwares on my PC are Adobe Lightroom CC & Photoshop CC.
​Some of the apps on my phone for quick mobile editing includes Lightroom mobile & Snapseed. 
Your go to camera gear?
​I've a large set of camera gears and equipments, but my go to items include - Sony A7Miii, Sony 16-35mm F2.8 GM, Sony 35mm F1.8, Gopro Hero 7, DJI Mavic Pro 2 and lastly small yet very capable Google Pixel 3 XL.

​tips to budding photographers?
My tip to the young and budding photographers will be to believe in themselves and that there's nothing impossible. The goal is always achieved after climbing number of different steps. Some steps are smaller and easier to climb while some are bigger that takes some time & efforts to climb off. I believe, Photography is all about art & creativity, and there is no limit to it. One can never learn art completely & we all remain learners for the lifetime.
